Article Types for JCPE
All manuscripts submitted to JCPE undergo rigorous peer review, receive a DOI, are citable, published in both web and PDF formats, and are checked for plagiarism.
Tier 1 Article Types
1. Original Research
I. Primary studies or replicative research, including disconfirming results.

2. Systematic Review
I. Synthesis of existing research using defined methods; must include a PRISMA flow diagram, funding information, and detailed analysis.
II. Max word count: 12,000; Figures/Tables: up to 15.

3. Methods
I. Presentation of new or established methods of significance; must include step-by-step procedures, validation, and expected results.
II. Max word count: 12,000; Figures/Tables: up to 15.
III. Format: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Equipment, Methods, Results, Discussion.
4. Review
I. Comprehensive analysis of a developed field, addressing schools of thought, research gaps, and future directions.

5. Mini Review
I. Concise summary of recent developments in a focused area.
II. Max word count: 3,000; Figures/Tables: up to 2.

6. Hypothesis and Theory
I. Presentation of a novel hypothesis or theory based on recent findings.

7. Clinical Trial
I. Results of interventional health studies; registration in a public trial registry is required.

I. Unique clinical cases with unexpected outcomes; informed consent is required.

I. Critical analysis or commentary on notable studies.

I. Articles from research topic editors outlining the objectives and context of a Research Topic.
II. Max word count: 1,000 (for 5–10 articles); up to 5,000 (for more).

I. Detailed description of prospective research design; registration in a clinical trial registry is required.
