Editorial Policies: Journal of Clinical Psychology and Ethics (JCPE)
The editorial policies of the Journal of Clinical Psychology and Ethics (JCPE) are established to ensure rigorous ethical research practices, transparency, and academic integrity.
1. Ethics and Consent
1. Research involving human participants must receive approval from an appropriate ethics committee, adhering to the Declaration of Helsinki or APA guidelines.

3. Authors are required to obtain informed consent for both participation and the publication of personal data.
4. Retrospective ethics approval is generally not acceptable unless explicitly granted by the relevant institutional body.
2. Reporting Standards

2. Statistical methods and measures must be described with clarity and provided with justifications for the chosen analyses, in accordance with APA guidelines.
3. Competing Interests
1. Authors must declare all financial and non-financial competing interests.
2. Financial interests include funding, patents, or fees from organizations that may benefit from the study.
3. Non-financial interests encompass political, personal, or academic biases.
4. Editors reserve the right to request further information regarding any declared interests.
4. Authorship
1. Authorship credit is based on substantial contributions to the study's conception, design, data analysis, or manuscript drafting.
2. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring all authors approve the final manuscript and that there is transparency in the publication process.
3. Authorship disputes are managed in strict accordance with COPE guidelines.
5. Acknowledgements
1. Individuals who contribute technical, administrative, or other support but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be recognized in the acknowledgements section.
6. Manuscript Submission
1. Manuscripts must be submitted directly by the authors; third-party submissions are not permitted.
7. Citations

2. Authors should avoid excessive self-citation and ensure that all citations accurately represent the original work.
8. Originality and Duplicate Publication
1. Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
2. Authors must disclose any overlapping or duplicate content, and related unpublished manuscripts should be made available to the editorial office upon request.
9. Open Science
1. While authors who have publicly shared data (e.g., via blogs or social media) may submit findings, editors will assess these cases for potential duplication or prior dissemination.
